Personal Profile

Alderman Leslie Cree MBE MLA

I have been a member of the Ulster Unionist Party for over twenty five years and a Member of North Down Borough Council for over twenty years.  I have served as Mayor on two different occasions during that time. 

Outside of politics I was formerly employed as a Senior Executive and Director of a major international energy company.

I am involved full time in a political career that involves working as an MLA for the Northern Ireland Assembly in which I am Chief Party spokesman for Enterprise, Trade and Investment and a member of the Northern Ireland Policing Board.  I am also a Director of the Northern Ireland Assembly and Business Trust, and a member of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.

Relaxing at homeAs an Alderman on North Down Borough council I serve in the following capacities on behalf of the people of the Borough:-

Trustee Somme Advisory Council, Member of Belfast City Airport Forum, Representative European Edge Cities Network, Member Economic Development Forum, Member of Comet Interreg Partnership, Director of Holywood and Bangor Town Centre Management Company, Director North Down Business Village Company.

My interests include economic and environmental issues, military history and aviation.

 I also play an active role as an Elder and Hon. Secretary of my local Church.
